The Government reinforces its digital defense with more than 18 million euros

As we discussed in our previous article on cyberattacks that Barcelona City Council was receiving. This item, financed with European Next Generation funds, has been described as the largest public investment in cybersecurity in the history of the community.

An ambitious plan with multisectoral impact

How does this investment affect private companies?

Although primarily aimed at the public sector, investment has very positive indirect effects for private companies:

  1. Reducing shared risks: a more secure public infrastructure also protects private providers and collaborators.
  2. Training and access to talent: Cyberacademy will help alleviate the deficit of 13,500 cybersecurity professionals.
